The bottom line here is that LSU was exposed as fairly fraudulent last week, losing ugly with a chance to keep slim CFP hopes alive. It’s likely they were looking ahead to this game, and with good reason as Georgia is a freight train that should roll here. This is essentially a road game for the Tigers in Atlanta, and that only adds to their disadvantages today.
Georgia is the most complete team in the country and should look to make a statement in this one. This team takes it as a point of regret that they did not couple their national championship with an SEC title last season. LSU has played above their heads all season, but come into this one with a hobbled Jayden Daniels whose limited mobility will really hurt their offense. Against the best defense in the country, LSU should struggle to score, allowing the Georgia juggernaut to overwhelm them for a blowout title game win.
NCAA Football (0.5 Unit) Fresno State/Boise State Over 54.5 (-110): 3:00 PM CT on FOX
This may be the final college game for Jake Haener, and I’m expecting the Fresno quarterback to continue showing out. Since he returned for injury, the senior signal-caller for the Bulldogs has led his team to no fewer than 30 points in all five games. That has included some tough Mountain West defenses, but I’m not convinced Boise State has anything but an average defense.
Their stats look good against a schedule of weak offenses, but even with Haener sidelined in the first meeting these teams hit 60 combined points. And with Taylen Green now at quarterback for the Broncos, his dual-threat ability has allowed this offense to take off. Boise has averaged 36 points per game since Green found his groove, and that should continue against a Fresno defense that struggles with mobile quarterbacks. With both teams clicking offensively, this total should be closer to 60, so I’m jumping on a discounted number.
